What Factors Affect Childcare Costs?
Your weekly costs depend on:

- Attendance pattern - full days often cost less per hour than casual care
- Subsidies - CCS and other state programs can reduce your fees significantly

Government Subsidies That May Lower Your Fees
Families may be eligible for financial assistance through one or more of these programs:
- Child Care Subsidy (CCS) - reduces your out-of-pocket costs automatically each week.
- Free Kindy (QLD), Start Strong (NSW), or Free Kinder (VIC) - state-based funding for 3- and 4-year-olds attending approved early education programs.
- Proposed 3-Day Guarantee (2026) - aims to give all CCS-eligible families access to at least three days of subsidised care per week.
