Prioritising Your Child’s Safety, Every Day, in Every Way

At Kids Academy, your child’s safety is, and always will be, our highest priority.

We know that choosing childcare means placing enormous trust in us, and we take that responsibility seriously. Over the past year, we’ve strengthened every part of our safety culture, investing in new systems, training and leadership oversight to ensure every child feels secure, protected and free to learn and thrive.

When you choose Kids Academy, you’re choosing a service that learns, improves and acts, because your child deserves nothing less.

Safety Is Everyone’s Responsibility

Our #SafetyStartsWithMe initiative empowers every educator, cook and centre leader to take personal responsibility for safety.

Safety isn’t left to one department, it’s embedded in every role, routine and decision. From supervision and food preparation to maintenance and professional training, each team member is accountable for preventing risks before they happen.

This shared culture of responsibility ensures children are always safe, supported and seen.

Our Key Focus Areas in Safety

All educators complete regular child-protection training and understand their obligations under mandatory-reporting laws. Concerns are escalated immediately through clear procedures supported by our national leadership and compliance teams.

Centres feature secure entry systems, authorised access controls and strict visitor procedures, ensuring only approved individuals can enter.

Educators are positioned for full visibility across rooms and outdoor areas. Regular headcounts, ratio checks and real-time communication tools support consistent supervision throughout the day.

Only authorised individuals can enter our centres. Families access the building via a secure gate and door code system, and sign children in and out using iPads at reception, ensuring accountability and security.

We meet all required educator-to-child ratios required by law. Our educators are carefully positioned indoors and outdoors to maintain active supervision and responsive care at all times.

Our centres undergo internal audits every month, far more frequently than the industry standard. These visits by our national support teams help us stay proactive, accountable, and aligned with best practices.

Outdoor play is essential, but so is sun safety. We schedule outdoor activities at safe times of day, require SPF 50+ sunscreen and hats, and reapply sunscreen throughout the day.

Through regular emergency drills, our educators and children are well-prepared for unexpected situations. We use Safety Bear to help children learn emergency procedures in a calm, age-appropriate way.

Every baby has a designated sleep space in our nursery rooms, and educators complete 5-10-minute sleep checks to ensure safety and comfort. Our practices align with national safe sleep guidelines.

We take allergy management seriously. Children with dietary requirements have placemats and Food ID cards for clear identification. Our cooks follow strict food safety protocols and prepare nutritious meals daily.

We work closely with families to manage medical conditions. Each plan includes medical management, risk minimisation, and communication strategies, so your child gets the support they need, every day.

Cleanliness is essential to your child’s health. Our teams follow strict hygiene routines, including frequent handwashing, sanitising toys and surfaces, and illness-prevention measures to reduce the spread of germs.

A Safe Place to Learn and Grow

Safety isn’t a checklist, it’s a culture that underpins every part of your child’s day. When children feel safe, they feel free to explore, connect and learn with confidence.

We’re dedicated to creating environments where families feel welcomed, educators feel supported, and every child can thrive.
