Our Commitment to Reconciliation
At Kids Academy Early Learning, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a world that values respect, cultural awareness, and genuine connection. That’s why we’re proud to be part of Affinity Education Group’s Reconciliation journey - a journey built on reflection, understanding, and meaningful action.
As part of this commitment, Affinity Education has developed its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. This plan outlines the important steps we’re taking to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures - across our centres, our curriculum, and our organisation.
What does this mean for families?
It means that when your child attends a Kids Academy centre, they’re learning and growing in an environment that honours and respects Australia’s First Nations peoples. From Acknowledgements of Country to engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences, our educators thoughtfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the rhythm of each day.
It also means we’re creating inclusive, respectful communities where children feel safe to ask questions, embrace diversity, and develop a strong sense of belonging.
What’s included in our RAP?
Our Reflect RAP is the first step in a long-term commitment to reconciliation. It outlines how Affinity Education will:
- Deliver cultural responsiveness training to all staff
- Partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators, artists and organisations - including Wandana Aboriginal Education
- Celebrate cultural events such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week
- Create more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and support First Nations-owned businesses
- Foster inclusive practices across all centres, including Kids Academy Early Learning
These actions are embedded into our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, giving children the opportunity to explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through meaningful, play-based experiences and respectful daily routines.
